Travelling to London
As you would expect, London is extremely well connected with several major airports and national/international rail connections. We recommend travelling to London by air or train, however other options are available such as bus and ferry.
Travelling by air: From London Heathrow airport, there is the option of taking the Heathrow Express which stops at Paddington Station (15 minute journey) and this will get you into central London. The Piccadilly underground station will also take you to central London from Heathrow airport, but is a bit slower (45 minute journey). From Gatwick airport, there is also the Gatwick Express which will take you to Victoria Station (railway and underground station) - another central location (30 minute journey). There are also local train/railway options from the both airport - these are services which stop at a variety of stations and are therefore slower.
Travelling by train: To get to central London by train from within the UK, you can take a train from many cities, including Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, and Edinburgh. Journey times will vary depending on what city you are travelling from. Train tickets can be booked from companies such as Trainline, National Rail, LNER, and Avanti West Coast. Make sure to use your Railcard if you have one!

Travelling to the Conference/Banquet Venues within London
The meeting will be at The Great Hall on the Strand Campus in the heart of London (Postcode: WC2R 2LS). Some information on the local services are described below. As described on the programme webpage, registration will be from 12:00 until 13:30 on the 1st September and 09:00 until 09:30 on the 2nd and 3rd September. We recommend travelling within London by tube and bus, however other options are available such as car, bike and scooter.
Travel by tube: The nearest tube station to the conference venue is Temple tube station (3 minutes) which is on the District and/or Circle Line. However, Embankment tube station is a short walk (10 minutes) to the Strand and has slightly better connectivity (i.e., attached to four tube lines: Bakerloo, Circle, District and Northern). Holborn tube station on the Central and Piccadilly Lines is also a short walk away (13 minutes). Please visit the Transport for London website to get the latest travel updates and information.
Travel by train: There are several train stations near to the conference venue. Charring Cross train station is a 9 minute walk, Waterloo East train station is a 10 minute walk, Waterloo train station is a 12 minute walk and Balckfriars train station is a 12 minute walk. Make sure to use your Railcard if you have one!
Travel by bus: A variety of buses from London locations serve travel to the Strand. In particular buses that stop outside the university include: 1, 4, 26, 59, 68, 76, X68, 168, 171, 172 and 176, 188, 234 and 341 - all of which are 24 hour services. The details of these can be found on the Transport for London Website here.
Travel by car: We do not recommend travelling to the venue by car (even Uber). If you must, there are car parks nearby but there are no facilities on the Campus site itself. No public parking is available, but there is a pay and display parking system that operates in nearby streets including Surrey Street. Parking for dropping off equipment is only available to industrial sponsors and this must be pre-organised.
